Spring Into Healthy, Safe, Sustainable Living!
To celebrate Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, 2015, and to kick off a new campaign running through the end of the FY, ORNL’s Sustainable Campus Initiative has partnered with the Pollution Prevention Program, Health and Wellness, Fire Protection and Safety, Property Management, F&O Energy Management, Sustainable Transportation, and the Network Printing Initiative to show us how to “Spring into Healthy, Safe, Sustainable Living.” Spring is a great time to make your office a safer place to work by removing clutter, tripping hazards, converting to network printing, placing unneeded items in eProp, and for developing healthy, and sustainable habits. Earth Day begins with a seminar presented by Neal Denton on "Improving Soils through Composting." Neal is a home-grown WBIR celebrity and well-known extension agent with UT/TSU Extension-Knox County. Seminar is at 9:30 a.m., Weinberg Auditorium, 4500N. Beginning at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, In front of the cafeteria, representatives from the partner organizations will be available to provide demonstrations and information on the proven cost and health benefits of network printing, how easy it is to use the ePROP system to dispose of unused equipment (and keep in mind, someone’s junk can become your treasure), get updates on fire safety and prevention practices for your office and your home, learn new tips for energy conservation efforts, check out a couple electric vehicles, and more. You can also sign up for a 5K Wellness Run/Walk planned for Friday, April 24. Contact: Teresa Nichols (nicholsta@ornl.gov).
