Education

Now available on-line...
ORNL employees can now take advantage of a series of on-line sustainability education modules provided by Johnson Controls, Inc. Johnson Controls has an $89M Energy Savings Performance Contract in association with DOE’s Transformational Energy Action Management (TEAM) Initiative. In addition to installing numerous energy conservation measures (e.g., changing our steam plant to a bioenergy steam boiler), Johnson Controls offers a 10-part, module-per-month series under its Sustainable Energy Education and Communication (SEEC) program.

The login information below the list of modules allows you access to the first interactive learning sessions. Note that popup windows MUST be allowed for the skillport.com website.

Module topics are:

Introduction to Sustainability — overview

Energy and You — about using energy more efficiently

Illuminate Your Life — about the quality and efficiency of lighting systems

Getting to Know H2O — about the efficient use of water resources

The Great Indoors — about the quality of indoor environments

Watching Your Waste Line — about recycling

Reinventing the Wheels — about environmental transportation options

A Change of Climate — about global climate change

Greening the Supply Chain — about making sustainable purchasing decisions

Sustaining the Momentum — about continuing on the path to sustainability
